Yes, the laws in Dubai permit residents and international investors to purchase property in Dubai's freehold market.
Yes, any person of any nationality, whether they are a resident of Dubai or based abroad, can purchase property in Dubai's freehold market. You are not required to hold any type of residency or similar permit in order to purchase property.
Upgrading to a larger unit in an off-plan project may be possible, depending on availability and management approval. You will be required to visit the sales boutique to check the available units. Upgrading may involve additional costs and adjustments to your original payment plan. Discuss all details with the sales agent before proceeding.
Rentals in Freehold projects is not managed by Meraas as they are sold to investors. You may contact external real estate brokers for more details.
Registration of property is applied with DLD through the developer. Documents required are listed below:
- Passport Copy of the Owner & Co Owner's (If Application)
- EID for UAE Residents
- Visa for UAE Residents
- ID Proof from the country of residence (International Customers).
It is a document that is issued by Dubai Land Department for off-plan units once the developer applies and registers the unit under owners name in DLD.
Mortgages may affect the Title Deed. If you have one, the bank might hold the original until your loan is paid off. You'd likely receive a copy instead.
Yes, any Major Modifications would require an NOC from the developer. Modification NOCs can be requested once all handover formalities are completed.

Yes. It will be considered as a resale in case the title Deed is not issued. If Title Deed is issued it will be treated as a Gift Transfer.
